Female Cheetah Sasha, aged five years died at Kuno National Park on 27th March 2023, As per officials she died due to kidney-related ailments.

Sasha was one of the eight Cheetah's flown in from Namibia on 17th September 2022 to Kuno National Park as part of the Cheetah reintroduction project.

As per reports, Sasha was detected with kidney-related ailments earlier this year in January 2023 and the MP forest department rushed a team of doctors to Kuno National Park.  Experts had managed to administer fluids into her body and her condition had improved slightly post-medical intervention but her condition deteriorated suddenly. finally, she succumbed to the chronic disease. As per the preliminary assessment, the Cheetah was suffering from Dehydration and renal disease.

Authorities are likely to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the reasons for Sasha's death. As per some reports she was unwell even before the translocation in September 2022. 

The count of Cheetah is now reduced to 19 adults after death of Sasha
